The Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering was established in 2001 through a merge between the Department of Ship and Marine Technology at the University of Strathclyde and the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at the University of Glasgow with strengths across the naval architecture and offshore disciplines. The department is strong in the area of ship structures and structural reliability and has been the manager of numerous EU and UK government funded projects including: Technical manager of the MARSTRUCT and ALERT; Manager of ASRANET. Staff have experience of managing engineering and software development projects.
